A LITTLE ABOUT ME
Design Leader • Designer • Builder

I am San Francisco based Design Leader & Product Designer with 18+ years of experience crafting intuitive, user-centered experiences across multiple platforms at scale.
As Shutterfly's founding designer, I architected the core product creation platform, pioneering intuitive drag-and-drop photo layouts used for image collages in Photo Books, Cards and Calendars, resulting in 12 patents. These innovations helped establish new standards for digital content creation that remain relevant today.
At Amazon Music, I led design initiatives for music discovery, purchasing, and playback across web, mobile, TV, and automotive platforms, allowing users to enjoy music anytime, anywhere.
For the past decade, I've focused on building and scaling high-performing design organizations. My leadership approach emphasizes trust, team empowerment, clear communication, and cross-functional collaboration. I've mentored several team members who advanced to Principal or Management roles, reflecting my commitment to growing future design leaders.
Most recently, I scaled Care.com's design organization from 4 to 20 members while establishing foundational design infrastructure. I introduced Care's first design system, built a research program from the ground up, and optimized design-engineering workflows to enhance team collaboration and efficiency.
Fun Facts
Beyond the digital world, I'm passionate about bringing designs to life in physical spaces:
- I design and build tiny houses and custom home furnishings.
- I'm part of an art collective that creates massive interactive installations that blend metal, fire, and lights.
- Last year, I architected and constructed a 50-person camp that withstood 45 mph dust storms and sudden downpours.
These real-world builds have completely transformed my approach to design – there's nothing like battling the elements and solving tangible spatial challenges to sharpen your creative problem-solving skills.
